Before the Start off Galveston waiting for the start. Usually this race is with blue skies and over 80F.

Gentlemen I would really appreciate if you would temporarily refrain from making suggestions and kindly be silent so that I can concentrate to the fullest on a good start that will also benefit you as a crew, please. Or in fact: Can you all stop jabbering NOW!

On the way to a split second start. You need to sail the same yacht a lot to know that indeed it takes 3 minutes to get there. It also takes sangfroid to ignore so much good advice to the contrary...

Full Moon...this is how dark it got at 1900...at least it avoided being worried about the oilrigs: one just couldn't see them
