Before the Start off Galveston waiting for the start. Usually this race is with blue skies and over 80F.
Gentlemen I would really appreciate if you would temporarily refrain from making suggestions and kindly be silent so that I can concentrate to the fullest on a good start that will also benefit you as a crew, please. Or in fact: Can you all stop jabbering NOW!
Boys will be boys but frankly, gentlemen don't hang outside the yacht....
....but then there are limits to sailing in comfort...
On the way to a split second start. You need to sail the same yacht a lot to know that indeed it takes 3 minutes to get there. It also takes sangfroid to ignore so much good advice to the contrary...
And off we go
Next time we may want to use the spi if only to keep them all behind us
