Professional Profile

Responsible for the bottom line I am considering myself a business shaper rather than a manager.

The following profile was used inside Royal Dutch Shell:

Maarten engages at senior executive level by providing strategically relevant support and challenge, seeing connections others may not see, leveraging this with the ability to identify how business value can be un-locked. This experience has been proven in his current assignment and also in his capacity as owner and managing principle of his own consultancy company identifying synergies and value for strategic M&A advise and to identify acquisition candidates and bring these into play in Europe, USA and Latin America.

Integrates various individual solutions for business issues into tailored enterprise level programs connecting operational issues with the strategic agenda of the leadership of clients.

Leads varied, multicultural, dotted line relationships in a multi-location (virtual) environment proven through successfully leading a very large business area.  Fluent in Dutch, English, Spanish, German, Portuguese.

NOC experience and insight developed through working for a NOC (Repsol) and long-term experience in Latin America dealing with resource holding NOCs at senior executive and government level.

Change management/turn-around experience in complex situations requiring strong, focused coordination and drive.

Willing to tackle personal change, adapting to circumstances and responding to feedback.
